The wives
EXT. THE HOUSE – NIGHT
An old wooden house, following the elegance style from the previous centuries, appears opaquely from the thin layer of dew. The house is placed in a jungle, from a small county of England.
CUT TO
INT. THE BEDROOM – NIGHT
A weak ray of light from the moon lights up the dark room where two people are sitting on a bed: a mother (Lily) and a daughter (Kim). Through the darkness, Lily’s face is hardly seen. She seems to be a beautiful woman whose hair is very long and glossy. She is sitting by her child’s full-of-dolls bed, helping her to cover with the flowered pink cotton blanket. Still, Lily’s face is hardly seen as her elongated hair covers most of her face, only her beautiful face skin and high nose can be seen. Kim passes through her tapered fingers into her beloved mother’s silky hair.
Kim
Mom, your hair is so glossy and long. When can mine be like yours?
She asks her mom in a very high pitch but sweet and innocent voice.
A tiny smile can be seen on Lily’s face.
Lily
Very soon, honey. Kim, do you love me?
Lily asks. She speaks really slowly.
Kim
Of course I do mama. I love you the most in my whole life.

Kim giggles. She answers her in the most innocent way that can’t be better. Her voice sounds very high and happy.
Silence breaks out. But another tiny smile emerges on Lily’s pretty face. She rubs her slender and slim hands softly on her little girl’s forehead.
Lily
It’s getting late right now. Honey, you’ve gotta sleep. It’s time I have to go...
Lily answers in an unusual tone: still slow and depressed
Kim
Mom, I can’t sleep right now. Can you lull for me?
She says nothing. A stream of tears leans down on Lily’s half face seen. She starts lulling. Her voice is so sweet and beautiful that it seems like the room is totally brought to the whole new wind: lively and full of happiness.

EXT – THE SKY – MID NIGHT
It is now mid night. The sky is dark and cloudy. The wind blows those dark clouds to fly towards and cover the weak, last rays of moonlight to the Earth.
CUT TO
INT – THE CORRIDOR – MID NIGHT
Kim has sunk into her own world where only happiness is. Lily walks back to her room. A small light bulb is not strong enough to supply light for the long and narrow corridor. Deeply in the darkness, an aggressive voice comes up.
The man’s voice
Dear...

The man’s voice (cont’d)
I’m so disappointed at you. You betrayed me. You betrayed this family. Get out of here. You don’t deserve to be in this family. I disgust you. I gave you everything. I tried all my best to build up this family. And now, you ruin everything I created. How can I forgive you? Tell me! HOW? I – NEVER – WANT – TO – SEE – YOUR – FAKE – FACE – AGAIN!
The voice is getting stronger and stronger and also more aggressive as the walks of Lily are getting slower and slower.
She reaches her room and walks in. The grinding sound of the door closing vibrates in the air. Silence breaks out. Everything sinks into darkness.

INT – THE BEDROOM – MID NIGHT
From the darkness, Kim opens her little eyes from a noise of a falling chair. She holds tight her little doll. The windows of room are opened widely. The wind blows up the white curtain. She suddenly feels scared. Her body shivers in the warm thick cotton blanket. Her innocent eyes close tightly, trying to get back to sleep. She tries to think of a melody to forget the fear. A thought comes up in her mind.
Kim
Mom? ...
She decides to go to her mom’s room. Her tiny legs walk slowly and half of the doll can be seen.
CUT TO
INT – THE CORRIDOR – MID NIGT
Kim walks to her mother’s room. She feels very worry. She holds tight her favourite doll, walking along the

corridor. It is still very dark with a weak supply from the light bulb. Then she stops at a closed door, where her mom’s room is.
CUT TO
INT – LILY’s BEDROOM – MID NIGHT
Kim slowly opens the door. It is a well organised room. Opposite to the door is a couple of windows, looking straight to the jungle outside. The atmosphere in this room is quite cold. The windows are opened, allowing the winds to blow inside. Silence breaks out. She can barely see things in here because it’s too dark. Kim rolls around her mother’s room. She suddenly finds out her mother’s body hung on a rope.
Kim
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
Kim screams. A voice dissolves into the darkness. Out of the windows, out to the jungles...
